Taking control in heels

Why is it that when women need to take control of their destiny they are wearing heels? Netflix, a 21st century database, one whose shows have updated our ideas and our thinking throughout the world. But why is it that Netflix superhero's still revert back to tights and cape when dressing up as supergirl? Come on supergirl?! Even the supergirl character comments on how degrating her name is, but throughout the show she accepts it and moves on. I'm not saying you have to dress like a 'man' to take over a rugged position. But at least take away the pink!
