How does an egg become popular on Instagram? One egg, yes, that of a chicken, has become one of the most popular posts on Instagram. While people are dressing up (or should I say down) to be the most liked on Instagram, an average brown egg juxtaposed against a white background has become the most liked Instagram post so far this year.

So I wonder, in a generation of shares and likes (and now hearts according to Instagram). It doesn’t seem to matter how hard you work to become famous on Instagram, it is your gimmick that gets you your likes.

So the question is, with so many likes, will these people be remembered tomorrow? I know that I may not remember everything that was posted on Instagram in 20 years, but I will still remember what it is to ‘like’ a plain old egg on Instagram and be one of its ever famous followers (yes I do care if an egg likes me or not).
