How to find the theme of a novel (in short).

When we hear the word theme, we need to think about the lesson or idea the book is trying to portray to its audience, you the reader.

In short, theme can be defined as:

an idea that recurs in a work of literature.

When talking about your books, as you know you are expected to explain the theme. However, it is important that you don't mix up what a plot is with the theme of the book. These, plot & theme, are two different elements separated from each other.
